CYCD OS
A deterministic financial operating system for student loan strategy.
Not a calculator. Not a chatbot. A structured engine that converts your financial data into scored, explainable repayment strategies — and monitors them over time.
The Strategy Engine
Every viable path. Every time.
The strategy engine is the core of CYCD OS. It takes structured financial inputs — income, loans, employment type, filing status, family size, professional goals — and generates every viable repayment path. This includes all federal IDR programs (SAVE, PAYE, IBR, ICR), PSLF qualification paths, standard repayment, refinancing scenarios, and multi-phase hybrid strategies.
The engine is deterministic: the same inputs always produce the same strategy set. There is no randomness, no large language model generating narratives, no probabilistic guessing.
The Scoring System
Five dimensions. All visible.
Each strategy is scored across five dimensions. All scores are computed deterministically from your data. The logic is not hidden.
Lifetime Cost
Total dollars paid from today to loan payoff or forgiveness, including interest accrual and tax exposure at forgiveness.
Monthly Cash Flow
Net monthly surplus after the required payment. Models impact on liquidity and budget stability.
Forgiveness Probability
Modeled likelihood of completing the conditions required for forgiveness under PSLF or IDR, given current employment trajectory and income projections.
Tax Bomb Exposure
Estimated federal and state tax liability at forgiveness for IDR strategies, adjusted for known exclusions and current law.
Risk Level
Strategy sensitivity to income disruption, program policy changes, employment shifts, or family events. Expressed as low / moderate / high.
Scenario Simulation
Re-run the engine with different inputs.
Before committing to a strategy, CYCD OS lets you model alternative scenarios. Change your income projection, adjust your family size, toggle PSLF eligibility, or simulate a refinancing decision — and see how each change affects the full scoring matrix.
Scenarios are not what-if guesses. They are re-runs of the full strategy engine with modified inputs. The delta between your current baseline and each scenario is computed and displayed.
Monitoring + Drift Detection
Your strategy is a living document, not a PDF.
CYCD OS continuously monitors your active strategy against live financial signals. When income changes at recertification, when employment sector shifts, when IDR rules are updated, or when personal milestones occur — the system re-evaluates strategy fit.
Drift is categorized: normal (within expected variation), moderate (review recommended), high (strategy re-evaluation required), critical (immediate advisor escalation). You are never operating on a stale plan without knowing it.
Normal
Within expected range
Moderate
Review recommended
High
Re-evaluation required
Critical
Advisor escalation
Benchmarking
See how your trajectory compares.
CYCD OS benchmarks your repayment trajectory against anonymized peers: professionals in the same specialty, income band, loan balance range, and repayment program. Benchmarking answers questions you cannot answer alone: Is my payment-to-income ratio typical? Am I tracking toward forgiveness at a comparable rate? Is my strategy score in the normal range for someone with my profile?
Peer data is aggregated and anonymized. No individual data is exposed.
Lifecycle Timeline
Every milestone, structured and tracked.
Every repayment strategy generates a lifecycle timeline: a structured sequence of financial milestones, checkpoints, and required actions from today to loan resolution.
Recertification windows. PSLF submission dates. Forgiveness eligibility dates. Ownership transition checkpoints. Income verification deadlines. The timeline is dynamic — it updates when strategy changes, when milestones are completed, and when monitoring detects drift.
